We Have a Winner

A girl I don't know just gave me a very genuine smile as I passed her
walking home from school, and on a day so cloudy, cold, and gloomy, she
gets a thousand points extra in my class.

Do we know this girl? Should we get her phone number? Make sure to walk by again!

My sentiments were the same as Nancy's. Did you get her name and phone number? Need to be ready to ask for these vital bits of information.

You're both right, I should accost every female that shows the slightest bit of friendliness toward me. I'm not mentioning girls to my family any more.

Ever.

Sorry if the nice moment was ruined Austin. I agree, you shouldn't accost a girl and ask her for her number the first time you see her. But it's always nice when someone is extra friendly. It brightens your day. You should pass it on!

Aust, don't be so bitter, we just think every girl should get an equal chance at being Mrs. Austin, we're just equal opportunity accosters. Shouldn't you be too? You're just lucky I don't live in Utah yet, I'm thinking about taking a billboard out in your name ala Lance Archibald. Imagine the possibilities!

I'd never speak to you again.

Ever?

I mean this nicely to members of your family (of whom of course I go way back when with) but I have often found that when family members are enthusiastically more eager than I am about someone I could possibly date, (for example like a random smiley person on the street) it sort of has the effect of turning me off completely from that person.

I think there is universal application here.

Thank you Mary.

Nancy, it's not your concern, it's extremely aggravating, disparaging, and inconsiderate, and you need to leave me alone about it. Do you think you're actually helping me? I don't think you even know me. If you persist in thinking it is your job to tell me how to live my life, I will never speak to you again.
