At the Lot, I listen to Christmas carols. All day. I'll never understand
how "Little Drummer Boy" made it's way into the canon of acceptable
Christmas music.

Even the David Bowie/Bing Crosby version?
it's an allegory. Even if our talents are useless, the baby Jesus will always accept them.
Bowie/Crosby version, MAYBE. Allegory, sorry, but I don't buy it.
From your mouth to Baby Jesus' ears...
The jackson five does the only acceptable version in my opinion.
Other christmas songs I HATE.
Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas. (I could get shot for that)
Mary Did you know?
I'll be home for Christmas (if only in my dreams? DEPRESSING)
Because it has the best line ever in the history of cheezey christmas songs:
"The ox and lamb kept time, pa-rhum-pa-pa-pum"
According to my father-in-law it used to be the ox and another animal who's name starts with an "a" and ends with an "ss"...
pa rum pum pum pum
I love that song. For honest. Every version. Learn the lyrics and let them sink. Bright Eyes has a good one with mechanical drums on lo-fi such and such.
That said, it's no "Do you hear what I hear?" or "In the Bleak Midwinter" but it's still dope.
And Jasie is totally right. Allegory through and through. Look the lyrics up, its a beautiful jam.
