Extra! Extra!
Should I go be an extra in a movie that's shooting in SLC on Monday? I think they pay you, I'm not working next week, and it would be an interesting experience. That being said, extra work is not glamorous, there will be a live band that I'm not interested in hearing, and it wouldn't pay that much. It will most likely be a really stupid movie. What do you think?

If you have time, do it. Just make sure that no one tries to put you in the back away from all the cameras. This could be your big-break.
That being said I was an extra in a movie once. I did it for free. It was hot and boring and I wouldn't do it again. I'm glad I had the experience though. How much does it pay?
Do it! Everyone's gotta start somewhere. :)
Yes!!!!!!!
If you want to.
Don't try putting extra work on your resume, however. It's not necessarily something casting directors are impressed by...
I was an extra in the Mormon "Pride and Prejudice." I went with a bunch of my "liberal for LDS kids in Utah" friends. One even had long hair *gasp*
We thought it would be fun--and it was, mainly because we were mocking the movie the entire time. 2 Pride, 2 Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice Reloaded. Pride and Prejudice: Carmen Rasmusen's revenge.
