I am on the front row of the LCD Soundsystem and Arcade Fire show. It is looking like it will be an incredible show. When it starts. More to come, after the show. Show show SHOW.
Like Win mentioned before "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)" their (Win and his brother who is also in the band) grandparents are from Utah and members of the Church. Their mother was a member but became inactive when she married their father, and they were raised in Texas with a little bit of the Mormon background, but I don't think they were baptized.
So that's the story. Win mentions some of the religious influence in his life in an interview: "I grew up in a somewhat religious family. My dad's family isn't religious at all, but my mom's side of the family is, so [as a child] I was exposed to church a bit."
(it's a great interview by the way. you should read it: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/feature/42659-interview-the-arcade-fire
I think their grandma still lives in Utah, and I've heard rumors that they come here for Thanksgiving every once in a while.
The closing set is about to start, I'll let you know how it was when it's over. In other words... COOL your JETS, Sister! I'm a busy man, I'll post when I have time.

ack, why didn't find out you were going?!
was it worth missing a function with the family that you love?
Ya, Aus, we missed you at the birthday party. How was the cobbler? Did you party with that?
Did you know the lead singer for Arcade Fire was raised in a Mormon household? (I doubt he is active)
Where did you hear that, Rich? Ya, if he is a member of The Church, he isn't active.
