Shallow vocab

I've decided after reading over some of my rants that I should eliminate the mild-ish harsher language from my vocabulary. Even nonsense symbols and characters indicating foul language.

You articulate yourself well enough to not need to use foul language, or indicate foul language, anyway. Kudos on an entertaining and really intelligent sounding blog. Sorry, you never actually invited me to read it; I got here through Mary's blog.

I didn't realize people needed an invitation. By all means, this is a public space, one of the beauties of blogging. Feel free to explore and contribute in our ongoing forum. I'm simply the moderator.

I don't see explicatives as being shallow vocabulary, but what irks me is all the interweb acronyms, all this lol this and lmfao that. Just now am I starting to ween myself from writing that way. As Hank Moody says on "Californicaiton," "People don't write anymore. They blog. Instead of talking they text, no punctuation, no grammar. It seems to be a bunch of stupid people pseudo-communicating with other stupid people in a proto language that more closely resembles what cavemen used to speak than the king's English."
